Accommodation Requests:

Students are encouraged to utilize the housing application to request any disability accommodations pertinent to their housing needs. The request must be accompanied with current (within the last 6 months) supporting documentation from a qualified healthcare practitioner that describes the nature of the disability, functional limitations associated with the disability, severity of these limitations, and recommended reasonable housing accommodations (including an explanation of how the housing request will address the disability). Any documentation that does not meet all of the above criteria will not be accepted. Requests will undergo a thorough review by the Office of Disability Services and the Medical Director as part of the Accommodations Committee.

Please be advised that requests for particular housing assignments/living environments based on a student’s preference, rather than a reasonable disability accommodation, will not be honored. Students are expected to be honest when applying for housing and requesting accommodations. Any student found providing inaccurate or misleading information to gain an advantage in on-campus housing will face disciplinary action.

Note that for most food-related accommodation needs, such as access to a kitchen, accommodations will generally be provided through utilization of the Schottenstein communal kitchen facilities in collaboration with special orders from our dining services team.

Students are not obligated to accept the accommodations assignment offered, however a subsequent offer will not be made.

New for Fall 2024 Room Selection:

We are excited to join many universities in giving students more control of their college experience by empowering them to choose their housing assignments for the upcoming academic year! On designated days in late June, group leaders of roommate groups will have the opportunity to choose their room with their roommates. New students will be able to choose their room on June 24, and returning students will have access to the portal on June 26. It is important to create a roommate group when the application opens, as students will only be able to see rooms that match how many students are in their roommate group.

We will share more specific information and instructions in the upcoming weeks.

Students with specific and approved accommodation requests will be manually assigned.
